Where it all began.

In 2002 Jarman Peacock opened The Green House, conveniently located across the street from the iconic Southgate Shopping Center. During his time as owner and operator of the shop, Jarman built a flourishing garden shop and made many friends along the way. After 19 years, he made a career shift that would allow him to spend more time with his family and friends, passing the shop to new hands.

How it changed.

After the decision to make a career change, Jarmon was approached by a friend who knew that The Green House was an asset to the Lakeland community and was passionate about keeping the business alive and growing. In July 2021, Julie Johnson took over the shop and began transforming the space inside and out.

Where we are now.

Since the change in management, we’ve seen a shift in The Green House. With a newly renovated outdoor garden, and a redesigned interior, the shop is blooming with life and beautiful plants and flowers. Each week, you can find both the same plants you knew and loved from before, along with a new selection of exotic plants, orchids, indoor and outdoor plants, greenery, and floral arrangements. Along with the wide selection available, Julie and her team craft beautiful custom arrangements and offer orchid refreshes to keep your orchids looking their best.
